I ask exactly what the title says... This has been on my mind for far too long.
Knowing the overall mixed to negative (as BARELY POSITIVE) reception overall of Season 2, this needs to be asked... Now more than ever.
Unless better writers come to the table and rely on what works and toss out what doesn't - Season 3 will be the lat mile likely anyone walks with this show, if they don't drop it after the end of Season 2 (or worse, during, if they're just catching up...).
So, am I in the right to be concerned and/or disappointed at the state of this show, or am I acting too cautious???
Either way - let's Discuss.

So we're ripping this show a new one like (some) bronies do with MLP? To answer your question, YES! I am very much in favor of a 3rd season.

Hard to say at this point for me personally. Season 1 got me ecstatic about the show but season 2 has just been kind of lackluster. Too many episodes that were frankly boring to be honest. I guess in season 3 I just less focus on Blythe's fashion and the human characters in general, less spamming of the Biskit twins in every single antagonistic role, and more focus on just the pets.

I could only see your suggestions working with a new writing team in place that will actually listen to us. I don't blame you if you drop the show for this.

I certainly do. I'm gonna go on a limb here and say that even if season 3 isn't all that good either, I would rather have mediocre episodes than no episodes. Then again, I would want them to be good episodes nonetheless because not only would they be better to watch, obviously, but it would also help ensure future seasons.

Trust me, the less enjoyable episodes we get from future seasons (going off of critical reception overall), the more unpopular and hated this show becomes. That, I DO NOT want to see. I'd rather see this show end than get cancelled for angering too many people (in the worst case scenario). Too bad if that happens, MLP will just keep going and be the ONLY relevant thing on the channel -and just like a certain yellow sponge has , it will eventually get worse and worse.

Yes and no, No because I don't like Season 2 as much as Season 1 and no longer consider myself a fan but still watch and enjoy the show but yes because I still watch and enjoy the show but not as much as Season 1.

The wishes about a S3 came true.

But is it going to be worth it? Sometimes, I really do feel like I'm probably the only person who liked Season 2 more than Season 1 in general and would like to see this show get better as it keeps going, that way we're not stuck with just goddamn ponies.

If I may ask, what was it about season 2 that made it more interesting for you than season 1?

There were only 3 episodes in Season 2 that I outright disliked. Season 1 had way more than that for comfort, especially from the start, where the show did not only fail to do a good job to put its best foot forward, but it failed to convince people it's not just some girly - as show (which IT ISN'T!!).
It's thanks to how LPS started out that there's virtually no fanbase nor reason to keep going, when I get cynical enough about it. At least Season 2 tried to do better than it ever started out, IMHO.
EDIT - To sum up my thoughts, I don't expect anyone to agree with me on this and I expect to get cursed out for it, but that's how I feel about everything going into Season 3 so far.

Yes, I do, but I think there won't be a Season 4, after some of the staff announced on Twitter that they were leaving.

If what you're saying is true, that means if this show keeps going at all, it's likely going to drop even harder in quality after this coming season, or worse, during it - causing even more fallout and/or reasons to bash it and anyone who likes this show at all. Dammit - I was afraid of this.
That also means more of that damn pony show getting too much screentime and turning this channel into the Pony Network... Just like how Nick is the Spongebob Network.. That show will be milked for all it's worth, especially thanks to that damn Equestria Girls series...
Man, what else can go wrong with this channel, IMHO???
