The first time I watched the show and heard the hedgehog's name was Russell, I immediately thought of Once Upon a Forest (also has a hedgehog named Russell). I wonder if the name was a reference to this movie. Has anyone else seen it? Trust me, it's a good one.  |

Never heard of that movie. Yet someone did bring it up and I thought nothing of it. I think it was a coincidence. Or a reference. LPS has given plenty of references. I even spotted some in the FIRST EPISODE!

I had it on VHS years ago and got rid of it. I found it on DVD at Wal-Mart on the kids' rack a few months ago. And watched it that night. Still as awesome as it was back in the day.

Even though I have never seen the movie before I wonder if Russell from LPS is based on Russell from the mentioned movie?

Actually, the Russell in the movie is the disorganized one who is always hungry. The name may still be a reference.

I totaly forgot about the hedghog's name being Russle too! He is totaly LPS Russle's opposite.
