NOTE: Ever seen the MTV show Silent Library? Basically, this is probably what would happen if the Littlest Pets went on Silent Library. It's a game show where the constant that draws the wrong card has to do a weird, embarassing or silightly painful task. Shame that show ended. Anyway, most of these challenges I actually thought of myself and didn't air on the actual Silent Library. Enjoy!
Somewhere in New York, 7 pets filed into the library and saw a feline version of Zero Kazama sitting in a chair, "Hello, Littlest Pets. My name is Zero Catsama. Are you ready for your challenges?"
Pepper grinned, "You bet we are!"
Zero looked around at the 7 pets, "There can only be 6 contestants and there are 7 of you. One will have to sit out of this."
Sunil grinned, "Well, it might as well be me. I read some of the challenges and I'm having second thoughts."
Zero sighed, "Sorry, Sunil. But it won't work like that. In my paws I hold 7 cards, I want each of you to pick a card. Whoever gets the "Smiley face" card won't participate in the game."
Russell raised an eyebrow, "One in 7 odds? Well, if you say so."
The pets sat down at a table and filed the 7 cards down it. Each pet claimed a card. Vinnie counted to 3 and they all flipped their cards over:
Minka: FROWN
Penny: FROWN
Pepper: SMILE
Russell: FROWN
Sunil: FROWN
Vinnie: FROWN
Zoe: FROWN
The skunk hopped up and down with joy while the other pets pouted. Penny and Sunil almost looked like they were going to cry.
Zero smiled, "Looks like Pepper Clark is safe. The rest of you have a game to play. All right. This is Silent Library and the number one rule is SILENCE. Begin!"
The six pets filed the cards down the table and each of them slapped a paw over a card. Russell counted to three and they all turned the cards over:
Minka: SMILE
Penny: SMILE
Russell: SMILE
Sunil: FROWN
Vinnie: SMILE
Zoe: SMILE
Sunil looked at his frowny face card and he left out a soft whimper. He knew just right off the bat that he would be the first one punished. Vinnie pulled the lever to reveal Sunil's punishment: FRENCH SPANK
The mongoose saw the words and sobbed a little. He never he wasn't going to like this one bit. Vinnie put a reassuring arm around Sunil and patted him on the back.
"The contestant must be swatted on the butt by a baguette weilded by an angry Frenchman for 40 seconds." The announcer spoke.
Sunil bent over a chair and watched as a grumpy-looking male French poodle carrying a long stick of french bread under his arm entered the room. He wore a beret, a red and white striped shirt and a blue bandana around his neck. He approached Sunil and the mongoose squeezed his eyes shut as the baguette pounded his butt repeatedly, each swat stinging worse than the last. Tears filled his gold eyes and he bit back the urge to cry out in pain.
The 40 seconds were up and Sunil could feel a tear of pain rolling down his muzzle. The poodle exited the library and the pets crowded around the spanked mongoose. Zoe choked back a giggle while Vinnie pointed at Sunil's sore butt.
Zero smiled at them, "You toughened it out, Sunil. The team gets $300."
All the pets high fived the blue mongoose as the announcer spoke, "And Sunil takes a beating for the team."
The cards were laid out on the table again and filed down. Each pet claimed a card and pulled the card close to them. Russell counted to 3 and they all flipped their cards over:
Minka: SMILE
Penny: FROWN
Russell: SMILE
Sunil: SMILE
Vinnie: SMILE
Zoe: SMILE
The panda felt a tear sting her eye as she looked at the frowning face. She was the next punishment.
Vinnie pulled the lever to reveal Penny's punishment: EXPLODING VEST
Penny was now sobbing quietly. Exploding vest? The panda thought that sounded like all kinds of illegal.
"The contestant must wear an inflatable vest that fills with air will it pops." The announcer explained.
Penny took a deep breath as she was put into a life vest with a pump attached to it. Penny turned to Minka who was at the pumped who smiled at her and gave her a thumbs up. And with that, Minka began pumping air into Penny's vest. It grew fatter and fatter and fatter and suddenly POP!
Sunil let out a girly shriek while Vinnie shouted, "OH MY GOD!"
The panda's face was wet with tears and she now wore a torn life vest.
Zero glared over in Sunil and Vinnie's general direction, "You screamed, no money."
The pets looked defeated and Penny let out a sigh, resting her head in her paws.
The cards were set on the table and filed down it. Each pet placed a paw on a card and pulled it towards them. Russell counted to 3 and they flipped the cards:
Minka: SMILE
Penny: SMILE
Russell: SMILE
Sunil: SMILE
Vinnie: FROWN
Zoe: SMILE
Vinnie groaned as he pulled the lever to reveal his punishment: LOBSTER LOZENGE.
The gecko looked confused as he didn't know what a lozenge was but he was going to soon find out.
"The contestant must suck on the decapitated head of a lobster for 30 seconds without spitting it out." The announcer explained.
Vinnie took a deep breath and put on a brave face as a waiter stood before him with a lobster's head on a plate. The gecko took the head, stuffed it in his mouth and began sucking on it. Penny, Russell and Zoe were clearly grossed out and Sunil was actually vomiting quietly into a nearby waste bin. The salty taste stung Vinnie's mouth as he sucked, feeling the eyeballs and antenna on his tongue. Finally, the timer dinged and Vinnie took the lobster head out of his mouth, gagging. Minka politely offered him a waste bin to throw up in and the reptile did just that.
Zero smiled at the pets, "That was impressive, you win another $300."
Everyone high-fived the gecko for passing the challenge as the announcer explained, "And that brings the pets winning total to $600."
"Next up, Minka tries a brand new kind of art and Sunil gets a taste of the Christmas spirit when Silent Library returns!" The announcer spoke.
